Biography

Eric Morehouse’s practice includes assisting domestic and overseas corporations and technology firms in generating, developing and protecting intellectual property portfolios, and counseling clients on a variety of intellectual property matters. He has extensive experience in patent prosecution, post-grant proceedings, opinions relating to patent invalidity and infringement, and licensing. Mr. Morehouse has also represented clients in patent infringement actions before a variety of federal district courts, and has experience in various phases of litigation. He has experience with numerous technologies, including aerospace..., image processing, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, computer software, electrical switches and connectors and telecommunications.

Mr. Morehouse graduated with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the Virginia Military Institute in 1986, and received his law degree cum laude from Widener University School of Law in 1993. He is admitted to practice in Virginia, the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. Mr. Morehouse is also a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the American Bar Association.

Mr. Morehouse spent more than a decade as a partner with a large Northern Virginia based intellectual property boutique law firm where he managed the patent portfolios of various large corporations. He also lectured and supervised training seminars for clients, attorneys and interns on various aspects of patent practice, including patent specification and claim drafting, examination and post-examination strategies, claim construction, and validity and infringement analyses.

  • Business and financing strategies, including fund-raising for technology companies, initiating revenue, and scaling revenue
