OVERVIEW

Defending clients in pursuit of equity and fairness

Government and regulatory disputes can have far-reaching impacts on businesses and individuals, often involving complex legal frameworks and substantial financial, reputational, and operational risks. Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig provides seasoned legal representation in a variety of government-related disputes, defending clients in whistleblower claims, bid protest litigation, export control litigation, and enforcement actions.

Our attorneys leverage extensive experience in both the public and private sectors to represent clients in litigation involving federal, state, and foreign governments. Whether addressing government enforcement actions, regulatory challenges, or defending clients against civil claims under regulatory statutes, our legal team is dedicated to achieving favorable outcomes and minimizing the risks associated with government litigation.

Our experience in GOVERNMENT AND REGULATORY DISPUTES

Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig’s lawyers have experience litigating claims under federal whistleblower laws and the False Claims Act. Our legal team has helped whistleblowing clients file civil lawsuits alleging Medicare and Medicaid fraud, defense contractor fraud, and other government contractor fraud, bringing those who defraud taxpayers to justice and recovering monetary damages for the whistleblower.

We have also defended clients against strategic lawsuits against public participation (SLAPP). SLAPP lawsuits are intended to intimidate and silence whistleblowers by burdening them with litigation costs. Our legal team understands the nuances of SLAPP lawsuits. We have considerable experience filing and defending against anti-SLAPP motions for both individuals and businesses and recouping attorneys’ and other legal expenses from the plaintiff.

Additionally, our law firm helps businesses challenge or defend federal contract awards through bid protests. We represent clients before the Government Accountability Office (GAO), U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and other forums, ensuring fair competition in the procurement process. With experience handling both pre-award and post-award protests, we guide clients through every stage of the protest process.

Our lawyers also defend businesses facing export control violations and sanctions enforcement under regulations such as the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). We assist clients in navigating sanctions administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), defending them against penalties and ensuring compliance with U.S. export control laws.

Whether before a governmental agency or judge, Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig has the expertise to serve our clients’ interests without exposing them to unnecessary risk.
