Our experience in construction

Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig represents purchasers, owners, builders, developers, building owners, construction companies, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and architects. The litigation matters our construction lawyers handle include payment disputes, mechanic’s liens, change orders, defects, and delay issues. We also have extensive experience in transactional matters, including negotiation and preparation of contracts, design/build agreements, and construction loans.

Our construction lawyers work hand in hand with our real estate lawyers, employment lawyers, and corporate lawyers. Our team includes attorneys for some of the leading lenders in the construction and development industry, and experienced corporate mergers and acquisitions lawyers.

What we do

  • Represent clients in construction disputes, including construction defect, warranty claim, fraud, misrepresentation, material nondisclosure, and breach of contract and delay litigation, before federal and state courts, arbitrators, and mediators
  • Advise clients in the construction of single-family and multifamily housing and commercial and industrial facilities
  • Draft and negotiate terms of contracts, design/build, and build-out agreements
  • Help clients obtain building licenses and permits
  • Represent clients before the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation
  • Advise clients on subdivisions, dedications, easements, and boundary line adjustments
  • Address local permitting and code issues and interpretations during due diligence and design
  • Handle administrative enforcement actions, including zoning appeals and zoning violations
  • Manage issues relating to employment and contractors
  • Release and enforce mechanic’s liens
  • Support clients in obtaining financing

Paralegals and Legal Support Staff

At Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig, our team of paralegals and staff work together collaboratively along side our attorneys toward a common goal. We have created a positive work environment where our paralegals and legal assistants work to successfully reach firm-wide goals and support each other to combine individual strengths to enhance team performance. They regularly assist our attorneys with organizing and maintaining files, conducting legal research, and preparing documents.
